  • Comments Thread For: Andy Lee To Face Alexis Hloros on March 10th in Detroit

According to trainer and manager Emanuel Steward, middleweight contender Andy Lee (27-1, 19KOs) will return on March 10th in Detroit, taking on Alexis Hloros (16-4-2, 12KOs) in a stay busy fight. Lee was orginally scheduled to return on the Sergio Martinez-Matthew Macklin undercard on March 17th in New York City, but he withdrew from the show while trying to secure an April fight with WBA champion Felix Sturm, who instead finalized a deal with Sebastian Zbik. Lee is now a frontrunner to face WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in an HBO televised main event in June.

Now this is scrapping the barrel for a opponent.

Not even worthy for a stay busy fight.

Why couldn't they put Andy Lee's tuneup in the Martinez undercard again? Just untelevised this time.

I'm positive he was ranked somewhere in the top 10 not that long ago. Looks like they filed him under NA in the ratings.

          - # 6 Andy Lee (Ireland) has become Not Available *NA as he will fight for another organization´s title.
I guess that's because of the Sturm thing, but that didn't happen.

Still a better opponent then the Canelo team's selection of Mosely.
At least Andy has a pulse, is not shop worn, is under 40 and has a boxer's chance if Steward can keep him off the ropes.

Pure poetic justic for Lee who screwed over his fans in New York who bought tickets just to see him, screwed over DiBelle, screwed over Showtime, all because he was afraid of Quillin and had some pipe dream of facing Sturm. Gotta love it when what goes around, comes around quickly. Karma got his a$$.

Dumb move by Andy Lee. Instead of Madison Square Garden he is now on a crap card fighting a crap fighter.

But then again he was probably going to get beat by Quillin anyway so maybe it was smart?
