  • A couple of rare films

Stanley Ketchel vs Billy Papke IV:

In better quality than the version I uploaded.

Mickey Walker defends the world middleweight title:

No time wasted between the two fighters.

    Henry Cooper flattens Joe Erskine:

One of the most brutal knockouts ever.

A young Kid Gavilan coming back strong after his first loss to Sugar Ray Robinson:

I wish they had filmed the Robinson fight instead... Imagine seeing that fight in this quality with all the camera angles.

There has always been speculation that copies of Robinson-Gavilan do exist, or at least did, but no one has been able to track them down. There were even rumours that Castro has a copy in one of his vaults. I believe the Buker fight was discovered accidentally by someone looking for the Robinson bout.

      Thanks Manchine.

Erskine was the old leading british heavy and a big crowd fav. Cooper was the new lad and it took the british public a long time to endear themselves to Cooper after 'enry's 'ammer so viciously destroyed poor Erskine.
