with the media constantly serving us these villainous figureheads to level our hatred at (and subsequently celebrate their inevitable deaths), is anyone reminded of emmanuel goldstein from '1984'?
those front pages are just crass though. goes to show that civility and moral principals are mere conveniences that can be put on pause at any time it suits us. we haven't progressed as far as we'd like to think we have.

This is just an exclamation point to the ongoing propaganda campaign. With one stroke of the keyboard, no further investigation into matters is necessary because the deceased is guilty of whatever he's accused of. What he's guilty/accused of justifies the peoples' misguided blood thirst being quenched.

I suspect that many people who would call these images disgusting and tasteless and disrespectful are the same people who say "I don't believe that Bin Laden was killed unless I see pictures of his corpse!" so maybe there is some function in making them public.
