who cares if Durant was in the league for only 3-4 weeks or 3-4 decades. I don't see how that factors into this argument.

and I don't remember saying Jordan "wasn't" versatile. don't mix my words. Durant is just more versatile and you can't deny that.

I grew up in the Jordan era so I know all about him. I still watch his dvd's every couple of weeks.

how is Durant more versatile then Jordan? Jordan is faster and better post up player Durant can't postup, MJ was better Driving to the basket and MJ had the killer undefendable fade away jumper go watch more DVD's on him bro

Not knocking Jordan, but he played in an era that was thin on shooting guards. He had nobody to guard and nobody that was athletic enough to even give him trouble scoring. And he wasn't as versatile as Durant.
          Jordan is Shooting Guard
          Durant is Small Forward
          why are You comparing them?
          Jordan is 6'6, Durant 6'9
You should compare Durant to Pippen, LeBron, Grant Hill, Vince Carter, T-Mac maybe
Durant is higher, it's like comparing Kevin Garnett to Allen Iverson
Pippen was higher than MJ, sometimes more versatile than him,
where are the real shooting guards of the '90 in nba? there are no shooting guards, we have combo guards, combo forwards, like pippen in '90
i think you should compare Durant to Pippen

"The small forward position is considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the main five basketball positions"

"Small forwards should be able to do a little bit of everything on the court, typically playing roles such as swingmen but also as point forwards and defensive specialists."

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basketb...#Small_forward

wait, there is one SG still on this planet, his name is Rip Hamilton, the rest like Wade are oversized PG, Wade is officialy SG but he plays like PG (!), Kobe is officialy SG - he plays like SF (!) in my opinion, Durant and Kobe are scoring in the same way, one is SG and one is called SF

i just can't understand why people are still comparing Kobe to MJ, just because he is SG/SF,
Ray Allen, Hamilton, Allan Houston, Reggie Miller they were all true SG
Kobe is versatile SF in my opinion

HOW long u play does factor i mean geez ur statment u can say jeremy lin is top 3 pg in the league cause he tore it up for about a month, so that should stamp him as a top pg. You gotta keep going out and proving your the best and durant hasn't been doing it long enough to compare him to the goat!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, seriously dude your making Durant overrated as hell with that observation

yes Jordan played in an era thin at shooting guards, better yet he played in a BIG MAN's era where true giants dominate like Olajuwon, Ewing, D.Rob etc

Durant or maybe Lebron surely can dominate today's era where every 6"1 guard can score 30 per night coz the game today is been devoid by true centers and by "touch fouls"

jordan played in a different nba, a man's nba. handchecking was allowed and fouls that are flagrant today were just nice hard fouls back then.

a perimeter scorer without a jumper, who depends on ref protection, like d-wade, would never become a superstar in that environment.

Nike should make a commercial with LeBron

"C'mon LeBron! Get Your Ring. Just Do It!"

or Nike Reminds Fans "We Are All Witnesses... of self-proclaimed King James"
