Austin is accustomed to being the Alpha male, and he still has nightmares from WCW when Hogan ran the show. So the next best superstar, The Rock, takes his spot in the main event.

Austin ends up on the undercard facing Scott Hall!!! For non-wrestling fans, Austin going up against Hall is like Vitali going after Manuel Charrr. Its a certified b*tch move.

So did Austin chicken out or was Rock/Hogan the match everyone wanted to see?

Vince Mcmahon? Vince wanted this fight more than anyone$$$$... He hated Hogans guts and wanted to prove his new attitude wrestlers were bigger than Hulkamania ever was. But Stone cold did not have the balls or confidence to go against Hulk who was 10 years past prime.
