Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City - Ricardo “Matematico” Nunez (24-2, 20 KOs) stopped former world champion Carlos “El Olympico” Tamara (22-7-1, 16 KOs) in the sixth round of an IBF flyweight eliminator for the number two position in the rankings. They were swinging for the fences from the start, with big punches excnahged in the first three rounds. Nunez started taking over the entire fight in the fourth and dropping Tamara in the fifth. He pounded the Tamara until the fight was fnally stopped in the sixth by the referee.
