  • Marvin Sonsona Read My Article

I just got off the phone with Sammy Gello-ani, the Cebu-based promoter of Marvin Sonsona. He told me that Sonsona had read the article I wrote two weeks ago and messaged him saying that he wanted to return back to boxing.

"Two days after, he had sent me a message saying he was coming back to the camp," said Gello-ani. "I told him, 'There was a very good writeup by Mr. ********.' He said: 'Yes sir, that's the reason why I'm back here.'

"I was so happy that he took the initiative. He said, 'This time I'll be good,' and he promised so many things."

That really brings a smile to my heart It must have been a tough article for him to read, but I'm glad it affected him enough to get his life together.

Look for him to be back in the second half of September. He says that the first week of training back in Cebu has been great.

Did GMA provided you a Serendra unit?

              I was there last week.

No, I rented it myself. It's about $600 American, which isn't bad for the location. The only problem is, everything in Serendra is American prices.
