  • oliver mccall vs marius wach is officially signed for nov 5

Former heavyweight champion Oliver McCall (56-11, 37 KOs) will take on Mariusz Wach (25-0, 13 KOs) of Poland for the WBC International heavyweight title. The bout would take place November 5th at the Mohegan Sun Casino, in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Oliver "The Atomic Bull" McCall, 46, is an American heavyweight boxer best known for winning the WBC Heavyweight Championship in 1994 after scoring an upset knock out victory over Lennox Lewis, followed by his infamous in-ring meltdown in the rematch three years later.

In a long rollercoaster career that has been blighted by drug addiction and almost constant legal troubles, McCall has served as the chief sparring partner for a peak Mike Tyson, then later came into his own as a professional, defeating Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes, Lionel Butler, Bruce Seldon, Jesse Ferguson, Francesco Damiani, Oleg Maskaev, Henry Akinwande, Przemyslaw Saleta, Sinan Samil Sam, and Fres Oquendo.

McCall may have one of the best chins in the history of heavyweight boxing. After over sixty fights, McCall has still has yet to be knocked down and his only stoppage came in his rematch against Lennox Lewis when he suffered a phychological breakdown in the ring.

Mariusz Wach is a Polish upstart known as 'The Polish Giant.' The 6'8" (202 cm) fighter was born and raised in Cracow, Poland and represented his country in numerous international tournaments.

'The Polish Giant,' who served as an alternate for Poland in the 2004 Olympics, was also a sparring partner for several well-known boxers, including former heavyweight champion Samuel Peter. In his most recent bout, Wach stopped an overweight Kevin McBride in four rounds in July.

A strong win could conceivably put either fighter in the top twelve.
for the WBC international title which will give the winner a top 12 ranking...
