I know what you're saying, brother. But, when I speak of old school it usually goes back to the 70's and 80's. Though Whitney was around then, I prefer her music from the 90's plus. There is one thing for sure, no one has come close to her voice.
I just think the emphasis on money is the priority. Image and packaging something that can be sold to the masses is more important than talent IMO. Not saying there isn't talent in todays music or movies, I just think the later has become the priority.
my daughter watches that show with Britney Spear,Demi Lovato and Simon (forgot the name) and its hilarious how those two (Britney and Demi) judge others on their singing skills when they completely have no talent but nevertheless are smashable.
Britney can't sing for ****.
Demi on the othe rhand can sing. She just has a ****ty fanbase and sings accordingly. I think she did well hear...

Demi could sing I've seen her in concert (I have kids) but I don't think she should be judging people, Britney sucks but one thing about them two is I would love to see them rub rugs
"Most people stop for signs, but I've driven
through it
If it don't touch my soul, then I can't listen to it
The radio don't play the **** I used to love
Or maybe I'm just growing up"
Perfect lyrics for this thread but it does seem like music of today doesn't age as well as the cuts from the past.
