  • Margarito DEFINITELY landed less against cotto this time...right???

Was arguing with my friend about this. can someone post compubox stats from both fights?

Yes he did, they were less powerful as well because cotto didn't lay on the ropes for long periods this time. That is when margarito gets the most leverage on his punches. Cotto made several small adjustments in this fight, credit to him and his team

Yup, cotto was on the move and also smothered Marg on the inside. Spent less time on the ropes due to better conditioning. Don't agree with people who say he ran. If someone is landing more shots than his opponent, he def ain't running.

His work was more measured also, in the first fight he was lighting up compubox early on, but it was unnecessary he tired himself out and didn't need to throw that many to win the rounds. This time he did less but still won the rounds...instead of throwing 60-70 per round he was throwing in the 50's.

He did but dont take the old they didnt have the same effect with out plaster as anything neither.

We had everlast brand ten ounce gloves the first time we had reyes 8 ounce gloves. However I never really look at compubox in fact I noticed an inconsistency in this fight already I beleive the 5th round with 10 secs left you saw power shots landed for each 10 for cotto 15 for Margarito, the bell sounds, at the top of the sixth they site the stats and gave Miguel credit with having landed 28 shots.... meaning he had landed 18 jabs in the 5th round?

Where the **** did that happen? I didnt see 18 jabs thrown in one single round much less 18 of them land

So mayweather wasnt running against baldimor?

Dirrel wasn't running against Curtis Stevens?

Idiots, i swear. According to your skewed logic, Dirrell wasn't running in thsi fight, because he landed more.

                    1: 22
                    2: 13

                    Round 7

                    1: 46
                    2: 16

                    Round 8

                    1: 20
                    2: 11

                    Round 9

                    1: 25
                    2: 25

Let's stop right there, to compare them.

In the first fight, at the end of round 9, Margarito had landed 194 power punches. In the rematch, only 131. That's a difference of 63 power punches, which is a big difference.

If Margarito had a better eye, he could have thrown more, therefore landed more, and be in a the fight more than he already was. And most likely bust Miguel Cotto's face up more than he did.

Those who don't like compubox, can disregard these numbers as much as you want. But numbers don't lie.
                    Add 10oz gloves to that.
