  • Comments Thread For: Froch: Ward in Cuckoo Land, No Rematch in America

Carl Froch is against returning to America to avenge his defeat to Andre Ward, should the pair agree to a rematch.

Froch wants to fight Ward again in a bid to set the record straight following his unanimous points loss to the American in Atlantic City back in 2011.

The Nottingham-born IBF and WBA champion only has two defeats to his name and he avenged one of those losses on Saturday night following a points decision over Mikkel Kessler in front of a sell-out crowd in London's 02 Arena.

The duo have already spoken about a possible reunion with the 29-year-old American, who is ranked number two pound-for-pound fighter in the world behind Floyd Mayweather Jr, immediately stating Froch would need to return to the States if he is serious about cementing his legacy.

However, Froch has rejected the notion, saying that Ward should agree to fight in the United Kingdom if he wants the pair to go toe-to-toe once more.

everybody at 168 has had the balls to fight out of their comfort zone. even somebody like mikell kessler who was long accused of hiding out in his country have gone out and went to the UK and america to fight other champs.

everybody has had the balls and guts to do the right thing except andre ward who was the only fighter to have home court advantage throughout the tourney and his entire career.

STOP ACTING LIKE A BEYOTCH WARD AND SHOW SOME GUTS.

WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF SON OF GOD?

This fight has to happen in the UK. It will be MUCH bigger if held in the London O2 arena. Here in the states this fight wont draw much interest.

I think Froch doesn't need this rematch, he already proved himself twice over. His resume speaks for itself, he has fought anyone that is anyone and isn't too scared to leave his comfort zone. He has options even now, Bute is still there, Kessler is still there, Pascal is there too, Arthur Abraham is around the corner and even his mandatory Stevenson and most if not all of those fights are money fight.

Wtf? You must mistake Kessler with someone else. He has defended his title 5 times in his opponents backyard in 5 different countries and 3 different continents. More than anyone in the history of the division.

I hate how Froch is using his belts as leverage. Ward is the true lineal 168 pound champion.

I think Ward should fight overseas for a change, but Froch shouldn't be acting like he's the true champion because he has a couple of belts.

I think Froch knows he can make a lot of money in the UK and I wouldn't be surprised if he never leaves the UK to fight again.
