Blasts out Molitor in four rounds
In the first unification bout ever on Canadian soil, WBA super bantamweight champion Celestino "Pelenchin" Caballero (31-2, 22 KOs) destroyed previously unbeaten IBF junior featherweight champion, "The Canadian Kid" Steve Molitor (28-1, 11 KOs) on Friday night at the Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario. The nearly six-foot Caballero, who fights under the Seminole Warriors Boxing banner, stalked Molitor from the opening ball and teed off more and more as bout progressed, staggering Molitor at the end of round three and dropping the outgunned Molitor in the fourth. Molitor beat the count, but after Caballero drove the glassy-eyed Molitor into the ropes, referee Luis Pabon waved it off, crowning Caballero unified WBA/IBF champion at the :52 second mark. After the bout, Caballero called out WBC champ Israel Vazquez and WBO champ Juan Manuel Lopez.
