  • Comments Thread For: No Official Confirmation Yet of Chavez Jr. Test Report

There is not yet any official confirmation — nor any official denial — regarding a report that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. tested positive for marijuana after his Sept. 15 fight with middleweight champion Sergio Martinez.

That report, by Ben Thompson of FightHype.com, cited anonymous sources who said that Chavez’s post-fight sample “had levels of THC consistent with the use of the drug.” Thompson’s sources told him that both Chavez’s and Martinez’s promoters had been notified about the result.

BoxingScene actually said "FightHype" in one of their articles.

Ben Tompson must be crying and jumping in joy right now.

THC will not in any way enhance your performance so Jr. should be able to smoke all he wants.

It could explain why he gains so much weight after the weight in .maybe that is the reason why he wants to fight in texas , where he doesnt do the tests . Good luck , chavez. But i give you credit for taking the fight to martinez ;you did what boxers do , fight the best, win or lose . Hopefully , "el canelo " and donaire do the same .

Probably because... it's Illegal? Regardless of if it helps him in the ring or not the **** is illegal, let's be clear about that. Also it'll make him even more pathetic if he smoked weed before his ass beating he got.
