It's easy to see who wins and why. Purrity, at that time, and even at ANY time was merely a journeyman fighter whos main attribute was that he had an iron chin and could soak up incredible amounts of punshment. In their fightKlitschko bounced him off every part of the ring, except the lights, and if it had been a 10 rd fight would have won by 10 rds to NIL.
What happened to him was a combination of things just like his other 2 defeats, not clear-cut. H ewore himself out and his corner stopped the fight in or after the 11th rd. Klitschko was 21-22 years old, had been fighting every month for 2 years and this was his 25th fight in his first 24 months as a pro. He wore himself out. He was 225, when he should have been probably at that time 235.

As for Buster, Although Tyson really KO'd him in the 8th, but because Douglas gor an incredibly slow count (15 secs to reach 8) he was able to survive and that was Tyson's finale.
We can say that Tyson wasn't trained, that he'd been training on prostitutes and spent only a week in the gym, and all this was true, Buster being a 42-1 underdog, but the Buster we saw that night was one we never saw before....or ever again. He was capable of beating anyone and even up to his KD was beating Tyson fairly easily.

So...Buster being a huge guy too, would win, but not easily.

buster douglas was a phenomenal fighter that night. He really put it all together and put on one of the great performances. People focus so much on what tyson didn't do and his distractions, but overlook the fact that Douglas put on the fight of his life.

I think wlad was just chinny at that time.

Douglas doesn't get the credit he deserves for the Tyson fight, he put it all together that night and put on a great performance.

Dude, that Douglas. The Tyson KO'ing Jame Douglas. He's way too fast. That version of Buster has a chance against anyone imo.

Douglas was a skilled fighter, with dedication issues, however he was fighting for his desceased mother against tyson, and gave a career best performance.

You'd be better asking Sanders 03 verses Douglas 90.

First of all, Tyson did come into that fight sub par, but no doubt, Douglas put on the performance of a lifetime. Had Tyson come into that fight well trained and focused, he would have still had a hard time with that Douglas, but I feel he still would have out worked him and won by a UD. What a lot of people don't see is Tyson started having problems in his life around the time he fought Spinks and started making stupid decisions after that. He got rid of all the guys that helped him to where he was. I'm sure Cus would have liked him to have stayed with Rooney because Cus put a lot of time into Rooney by teaching him how to train Mike. Tyson at his best was one of the greatest fighters ever, but he seriously did have mental problems and didn't have the tools to make it down the stretch without a guy like Cus guiding the way. This is why a lot of you guys out there are wrong when you say a Prime Tyson was beaten by Douglas. Just because Tyson was still young, doesn't mean that was him at his best. Prime has nothing to do with age and can be cut off at any point.
