  • Better resume Holmes or Wladimir

Holmes fought the bigger names but a lot was green or at the tail end of their careers/semi retired, Wladimir fought the lesser guys/names overall but they was mainly prime IMO

This isn't a Holmes bashing thread or ''Wlad is the GOAT'' or vice versa just wondered who you reckon seeing they've made a similar amount of title defenses, ruled for a around a decade etc

    Holmes key wins...

    56-6-1 Shavers
    40-4-0 Norton
    23-1-2 Evangelista
    24-0-1 Leroy Jones
    56-3 Ali
    18-1 Berbick
    10-2-2 Spinks
    22-0 Renaldo Snipes
    25-0 Cooney
    20-2 Tex Cobb
    15-0 Tim Witherspoon
    10-0 Marvis Frazier
    14-1 Bonecrusher Smith
    16-0 Carl Williams
    18-0 Ray Mercer

    Wladimir key wins

    23-1 Monte Barrett
    31-1 Chris Byrd
    34-4-1 Ray Mercer
    28-2-3 Jameel McCline
    24-0 Sam Peter
    39-2-1 Chris Byrd
    29-0 Calvin Brock
    33-3 Lamont Brewster
    24-3-4 Ray Austin
    22-0-1 Sultan Ibragimov
    31-1-0 Tony Thompson
    45-6-2 Hasim Rahman
    25-0-1 Ruslan Chagaev
    35-1-0 Eddie Chambers
    34-3-0 Sam Peter
    25-1-0 David Haye

If I've missed any, let me know, I'll edit.

Could you also say who you voted and maybe a reason why...

I would go with Holmes if he had beaten those HOF/ATG before they were shot. Also if he had less defeats.

It's close, but I go with Wlad.

Norton wasn't shot a arguably fought his greatest fight against Holmes.

Its pretty close but Norton and Witherspoon help Larry edge it.

              wooooooooooow

holmes resume is light years away & I'm willing to debate anyone who disagrees (I'm no wlad hater ether)

if you guys posed this question to a historical Boxing expert you'll get laughed at. (not even joking)

**** the haters the resumes are actually pretty close as it stands holmes still edges it but add wins over say, price + fury (at least one of which will probably go on to be some form of world champ) to wlad's list and he will pass him

I am also taking into account Holmes lost 6 times, regardless he was older fighter when he retired.
