  • Comments Thread For: Roy Jones-Lebedev Possible For Balashikha on April 27?

Certain details have been discussed regarding a possible fight between top cruiserweight Denis Lebedev (21-1, 16 KOs) and former four division champion Roy Jones Jr. (54-7, 40 KOs). The fight could be held in the town of Balashikha in Russia, on the date of April 27, which is going to make it a mid-week show if the date continues to hold. Jones had previously fought IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green on a Wednesday in Australia and was stopped in the first round.

Roy's gonna die in the middle of the fecking ring. No payday whatever the amount is worth that kind of humiliation.

Who the hell is Roy's adviser? Someone needs to sit him down and show him tapes of his last few fight and end with 'time to hang em up'.

It's getting pretty ridiculous now. Why not work on getting a lucrative long term broadcasting contract with HBO, he has a talent for commentating. No need to suffer permanent damage.

If only Jones took these challenges when he was fighting the Glenn Kelly's of the world.

Lots of jobs are dangerous. He could indeed just work as a commentator, but seems to have that itch still. If he cleared away at least a large portion of the damage caused by the KOs, as he admitted to suffering from, then who knows how this one will play out. I'd guess a stronger mind may just carry him through decent shots much better. No matter what the naysayers may say, I'd still give him a great shot of beating someone like Lebedev, healthy. I'm hoping they both finish ok...
