You rule those out so easily. Music, art and philosophy is as important to human advancement as science. Philosophy allows us to advance knowledge of self and then in turn allows us to advance in science and technology. It helps us break the chains of religion and bigotry.

Art and music, I mean speak for itself. There are many geniuses that have changed the world with those two things.

I'm pretty much with you on the subject of Ethics but...

Do you know what formal Mathematical Logic is? It was that "circle jerking" over existence that lead to formal logic in the first place. For example two of it's most basic principles are the law of identity and the law of non-contradiction; both are basically propositions about existence, and by extension, so is the rest of Formal Logic.

Furthermore it was Socrates and Plato's Philosophical thought that lead to the modern rationalistic view of the world and the scientific method.
