Lee Purdy will defend his IBF International welterweight title against Carson Jones in London in December live on Sky Sports.

The Essex man claimed the vacant title with a superb fourth round stoppage of previously unbeaten Argentine Gumersindo Carrasco at Alexandra Palace in September, a win that sees him sit just outside the top ten in the IBF rankings.

I'm all for Hatton Katsidis, Mr 4Corners. Hatton has been out for 3 1/2 years & hasn't won a fight in 4 (by fight night). Carson Jones a step too far. Maybe in fight number 2 if he comes through number 1 unscathed.

And as much as I want Purdy to win I don't give him more than a 20% chance. I really do hope I'm wrong though.

Jones looked like a very tough fighter against Brook, I was surprised when I saw he was fighting Purdy.

Incredible fight for my man Purdy to get though. Can't help feel Jones will have too much class for him but will certainly be cheering on Purdy.

I love Jones. The fight v Brook could have gone either way. And in the 15 round days I have little doubt as to who would have won (although if it was 15 rounds then maybe Brook would have fought differently).

I am also surprised that he's fighting Purdy so kudo's to Purdys promoter & also to Jones - who has had almost 50 fights & has only just turned 26!!!

I can't see Purdy winning though but will be very very very happy if proved wrong.
