It was legit defeat but it's totally irrelevant. Wlad was very young at the time (22). He fought 24 fights in less than 24 months. He was beating Purity till he gassed out - lack of experience and overall tiredness catch up with him.

Combine all of that with Purity being very durable and tough guy...
    Searching for conspiracy is pointless.

        It was a legit loss.

It was Wlad's first fight in Kiev, UA. Wlad was 225 and Purrity was 249 pounds of muscle.

Wlad wanted a KO for his hometown fans. He had never been past 8 rounds before, and only once had he been past 6 rounds.

Wlad was boxing very well, throwing a lot and moving around on his feet like a lightweight. It was similar to the Wlad-Wach fight, except when Wlad got tired around the 8th round in the Wach fight, he took his foot off the gas and got his energy back.

In the Purrity fight, he kept trying for the KO until he gassed and got stopped.

            Great thread btw.

People forget that Wladimir actually lost to a journeyman... They keep talking about Corrie and Brewster.. but Ross Purrity taxxed that azz too.

            Great thread..

It's ironic though because I think the TS is a Klittard..

Ross Purity had 13 damn losses and sparked Wlad out..thats sad as hell...you give fighters like Floyd **** but try to justify Wlad losing to someone with 13 damn losses?not to mention he had 3 straight losses before the fight only winning against some nobody before the Wlad fight

                ROFL.
ya but according to Wlad fans Purrity is a iron chin granite chin warrior.

Ross Purrity is a homeless Man's Oliver Mccall. who knocked down Lennox.

This make sense because Wlad is a homeless man's Lennox.

Wlad was developmental as a professional and learned from his defeat. taking a loss to unheralded opposition on the way up is nothing to be held against a fighter in and of itself.
