yet the celtics can win 3 in a row against the lakers? on the road too?
Celts are just better. They are a deep squad. Shrek and Donkey is greater than anything the Lakes can throw out there once the starting 5 gets subbed.

Yeah, but that's got nothing to do with who THEY think will win the game.

Sportsbooks inflate the **** out of the Lakers lines, because the public will hammer them, and Vegas gets paid off huge when the Lakers win by like 5 points.

Now how in the hell am I supposed to know that?

What I'm saying is, that's not how they set the odds. They set the odds to try and get an equal amount of action on each side, so they can collect the juice. And with teams like the Lakers/Cowboys/Duke, they will inflate the odds because they're the public betting favorite.

Using Vegas odds to support your argument of the Lakers winning game 6 means basically nothing, that's all.

all im saying is if we're so dead in the water, why such a high line?

Vegas don't inflate the odds. The public does. Vegas set the odds by good handicapping. Vegas is already on the side of the money for charging 10% juice just to bet. They might throw in half point hooks to scare ppl off or get on the side of the money. Once the handicappers set the lines either way the lines move Vegas is just trying to stay on the side of the money. Every 3mil one way move the line a half a point in basketball. So when it open at 5 last night. They got 9mil more on the Lakers to win or cover hence the line moving a point in a half. Also the line still moves on the point spread even when the betting public opt not to take odds and bet money line. That's how the book adjust from getting killed.

3 million points lakers win the series.

                      give me 2-1 odds.

my 3 vs. your 6 since celtics only have to win 1 and lakers have to win 2.
