Vegas don't inflate the odds. The public does. Vegas set the odds by good handicapping. Vegas is already on the side of the money for charging 10% juice just to bet. They might throw in half point hooks to scare ppl off or get on the side of the money. Once the handicappers set the lines either way the lines move Vegas is just trying to stay on the side of the money. Every 3mil one way move the line a half a point in basketball. So when it open at 5 last night. They got 9mil more on the Lakers to win or cover hence the line moving a point in a half.
