David Sanchez will have a very demanding test on Feb. 23 when he headlines before his people in Hermosillo. "Tornado" Sanchez (21-2-1, 18 KOs) will face Filipino boxer Marlon "Nightmare" Tapales (21-1-0, 7 KOs) at the State Gymnasium in Hermosillo - promoted by Zanfer and televised by TV Azteca. The WBA's international super flyweight title will be at stake. Also on the show, former champion Giovani Segura (28-2-1, 24 KOs) will reappear in a ten round fight at flyweigh against experienced world title contender Omar Salado (23-5-1, 14 KOs) of Tijuana.

I guess Salado is gonna take another dive early in the fight just to get a paycheck without having to actually earn it!! Like he did in his last fight a week ago against Jonathan "Bomba" Gonzalez..In the very first round at 1 minute & 18 seconds into the fight Gonzalez threw a wide right hook & to avoid it, Salado turned his head & Gonzalez grazed(Yes, GRAZED) the back of Salado's head with his forearm & Salado threw himself on the canvas & told the ref & the Doctor he couldn't continue & when they showed the replay(several times from different angles) on the big screens, it was VERY CLEAR that the forearm BARELY touched him!! The whole arena started booing Salado & he immediately left with his handlers to the locker room....He should have NEVER been paid!!

I thought Tapales will be fighting agaisnt his countryman Danilo Pena on this date? What happened to this scheduled fight now? Anyways, I hope Tapales would overcome this acid test of his career. Although this is a mountain tall to leap for the WBA title. Good luck to him!
