I'm going to add Joaquin Phoenix to the list...not as an all time top 10...just as someone who I think is one of the best of his era.

            My personal favorites.

            1. Al Pacino(Panic In Needle Park, And Justice For All, The Godfather, GlenGarry Glen Ross, Sea of Love, Scent Of A Woman, Scarecrow, Heat, Devil's Advocate)

            2. Robert De Niro(Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Mean Streets, Midnight Run, The Godfather II, Cape Fear, Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale, King of Comedy)

            3. Gene Hackman(Superman I, II, IV, Scarecrow, The French Connection I and II, Enemy of the State, The Poseiden Adventure, and more)

I'll just name the rest without giving a list of movies.

            5. Christopher Reeve

            6. Alec Baldwin

            7. Mickey Rourke

To the guy going crazy about all the great actors of the past, you don't have to go back to the 1600's to list the best actors. The three best American actors are Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, and Jack Lemmon. I think they have some something like 8 Oscar nominations each, which is the most for any American male actors.

Top 10s are usually people's favorite's, not a list to make old movie fans happy. Make your own list with all the old greats, don't expect a 22-24 year old to think highly of wild west movies and such.

Oscars don't mean much because it's a popularity game. Yes, you're right top 10s are a personal favorites kind of list but if were talking influence and lasting power then the old greats are much better than two of those three guys you listed. Bogart, Clark Gable, and James Stewart are three actors that influenced the whole game. You don't have to be old to see old time flicks. A lot of us have had American cinema classes in college, Kev. Greatest bull**** classes there are.
