  • Comments Thread For: Love: Floyd Mayweather Would School Canelo Alvarez

Having moved to Las Vegas late last year, Detroit native and undefeated middleweight prospect J’Leon Love has been a fixture on the city’s fight scene, both in and out of the ropes.

Having recently raised his record to 13-0 with 7 knockouts after an 8th round disqualification victory over Ramon Valenzuela Jr. a few weekends back at the local Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Love is also an ardent fan of the sport, as he is at practically every card in Las Vegas, whether big or small.

Having sat ringside inside of the MGM Grand for Saul Alvarez’s 5th round TKO dissection over Josesito Lopez on Saturday night, Love admits that he was impressed by the WBC junior middleweight champion’s performance. [Click Here To Read More]

I watch boxing and don't agree. If Floyd hugs, elbows, and runs for half the fight OK he wins. He is a coward. If he actually boxes, even being defensive, he loses.

Of course you don't agree. With two mexicans in your avy its safe to say you would back your guy canelo up no matter what. Same way everybody that backed up Chavez Jr now shut the f.uck up

Still not a reason to pursue the fight for Canelo, he's never gonna catchup to Floyd's experience or ring IQ and he can't wait for the guy to retire. I don't think he's quite ready to even hang and not meltdown against Floyd tho, he has to fight at least a fringe contender in his next fight.

as for J'Leon Love, I saw him watching the fights on thursday night last week and hes got crazy long arms - definitely a build for boxing, seen him fight a couple times and hope he turns out good.

That's why people prefer more than a few other fights for Floyd, and would be disappointed if he fights Alvarez before the kid proves he deserves it.

I don' think Alvarez could beat K9 Bundrage or Austin Trout, let alone Mayweather or Cotto. And if I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet on him to defeat James Kirkland either, in spite of how bad Kirkland has looked in his last few fights.

i know canelo looked very good against mosley, but lets be honest, mosley is too old at this point to be considered a top tier opponent, and was just coming off a loss, draw, and a lost. and lopez, well no disrespect to the guy, but he lost his last fight at 140 and was a tune up for ortiz at 147. i like canelo, i think he has potential but he needs to fight some top guys before even thinking about getting into the ring with floyd. unless all he cares about is the money and not winning... or oscar and golden boy are telling him he can win so they can cash in on him before he loses to a fighter that doesn't make them millions. he should fight a top 10 guy at 154, then cotto, and depending on how that goes, then possibly floyd. cotto alvarez would make a lot of money, it would be a big fight, and if it made good money and saul won in good fashion it would give him a lot more room when it comes to negotiating terms for a floyd fight.
