not really. every fighter, not matter how great, always has their weaknesses. You're trying to tell me Arum and Roach don't match Pacquiao with fighters that suit his style? Or Mayweather doesn't carefully select his opponents?

      Who said?

Your promoters can sell you as elite fighter, while keeping you away from the style that bothers you the most. Why you think Pacquiao is looked at as elite, look at the style he's always facing. He's finally facing a non-stationary counterpuncher, but look who it is, look at how old he is, look at what weight class he last fought in. Same as Pacquiao never fighting a slick African American fighter, he fought Mosley who's an old AA fighter, no-slick, in his last legs.

Amir Khan was kept away from punchers for 4 fights straight to get his confidence back after the TKO1 loss to BP. Now look Khan is known as an elite fighter.

Keep the fighter away from his kryptonite long enough, you will fool everyone, and he will be "elite".

I disagree about picking Lara for an oppenent. Im big on the Southpaw advantage also and that most guys dont know how to fight them but in this case Williams was talking retirment very soon and he wanted to fight Sergio next. If thats the case then you have to fight a good Southpaw to get ready for that. Its just like Floyd picking Ortiz. He might could take on some other tough righties but pretty much only Ortiz is a good preperation for for Pac

i always said being great is only half skill, the other half is matchmaking, and that is what Paul doesn't have. He has his flaws, but he fights the best moreso than anyone in the sport, and no one can take that away from him. He fought Margarito when no one wanted to. He fought Martinez twice, and gave him a rematch when he didnt have to. He rematched Quintana right away. He fought Cintron. He fought Winky. He was gonna fight Pavlik. He wants Pacquaio and Mayweather. thats pretty impressive. If he was matched like Andre Berto, he'd still be undefeated and top 5 p4p

Huh? How can you be elite if you need to duck one type of fighters?

He needs a new fuking trainer like roger needs new teeth. Until he gets one he's going nowhere fast.
