BoxingScene caught up with welterweight contender Jesus Soto Karass after his upset majority decision victory over Selcuk Aydin on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Soto Karass, who was a 5-1 underdog in the fight, controlled the fight applying controlled pressure. He said that fighting intelligently is what they worked on in training camp.
"We were winning the fight round by round like we worked on in training. Throughout the fight I thought I was winning. At the most I felt I lost three rounds. We tried to fight smart in the ring and I think that was the key to the fight," Soto Karass explained.
