Jesus is from the future. He's a futuristic scientist that had all kinds of medicine to cure anything. He went back to the past, dressed like with whatever was in style, and went around giving people pills to cure their respective wounds/illnesses.

Jesus is most likely from the year 3000 or something. Right now he's chillen in his Jetsons car riding around and buying groceries in the future.

Interesting point, given that in the old testament there were prophecies as to what the messiah would do, such as enter Jerusalem on a donkey and enter the Temple with authority etc you could say that the road map was there and a clever magician popping the odd trick in would be accepted by a people desperate to find the messiah.
