And the MMA fans that I know keep trying to tell me that boxing is on life support and that it will be dead in the not so distant future.

Highest tickets sold in that stadium, surpassing the rematch of Lewis-Holyfield? That's pretty cool.

lol... hes had some good fights but cant draw, look at the attendances for some of his fights, rematch with williams was a big fight and so was the pavlik fight, if chavez would have faced pavlik when he was champ the place would have sold out... this is all chavez and if he wins hell prove it in future fights,, u can question his skills, level of opponents but not his drawing power

No surprise here. Many who know of Chavez Jr know of Martinez due to their "beef". Martinez has a surprisingly large Mexican fanbase. I dont understand why Lou doesnt bring Martinez over to the west coast for his fights.

I hope you dont think Chavez Jr is single handedly the cause of the sell out, Lopez <__<... Martinez is a lot more popular than given credit for especially out west. A lot of this is due to the fight, if Martinez wasnt there these numbers wouldnt be like this, likewise for chavez. Everybody knows this is going to be a good one. This is a significant fight.
