  • The hypocrisy with the Boxing Hall of Fame is embarrassing.

The thing is this: the Hall Of Fame is in America, built by Americans, financed by Americans. If a guy wins against an american hall of famer (or loses), he is automatically in the HOF if he is american. example?: Jess Willard. he beat Jack Johnson in a fixed fight and that was it. Got almost killed by Dempsey and only had a few fights. Thats what got him in the hall of fame. Ken Norton is soooo great and a HOF'er cause he beat Ali once. He didnt do a lot more than that. (got knocked out by Shavers, Foreman, Cooney...)
But because "Ali is the greatest", Norton is a hall of famer (although Norton didnt do S H ! T compared to a Klitschko). Can you imagine Corrie Sanders getting in the hall of fame cause he beat a prime Wlad Klitschko (and a few other very good guys)? Hell no. Because Klitschko is not american and neither is Sanders. Hypocrisy on its highest level.

What about the guys who have a win over Sugar Ray Robinson?- they basically all got in the hall of fame although some haven't done **** in their career except beating Sugar Ray. - Randy Turpin for example. Good boxer with a beautiful jab, but he only made the HOF cause he beat Ray Robinson once.
And people seriously say "David Haye doesn't belong into the Hall of fame". Are you kidding me? People only say that cause he is british and not american. If an american would become the undisputed cruiserweight champion and win a heavyweight title afterwards, he would be a first ballot hall of famer.
Others say "Naseem Hamed doesn't belong into the hall of fame". Are you kidding me? He had 15 title defences and some were against top guys (Wayne McCullough, Cesar Soto, Manuel Medina, Kevin Kelley,...)

You're looking in the wrong direction. It's not because they were Americans(americans dominated the sport back then, nearly everyone was american). It's more on the path of the IBHOF is a joke. Everyone basically used to get in and they need to fix it.

What you say is true. But the biggest problem is voting is done by writers who are part of the boxing writers association of America and anyone can become part of this fraternity by sending in a fee. What they need to do is form some kind of criteria for induction and then empanel a collection of historians and experts that are more suited to make these judgements of who gets in and who doesn't. Jmo.
