The conditioning coach of Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs), Phil Landman, witnessed the boxer's slow rise back to the top. Landman, a member of team Cotto since 2006, watched the boxer's fast rise, quick fall, and saw him once again fight his way back to the top. On May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Cotto faces the biggest test of his career, when he defends the WBA junior middleweight title against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs).

A fighters' psyche and confidence can change so much. Unfortunately, he's facing the one fighter in the world where all the confidence in the world probably won't help him.

To the top of what? He sure as hell ain't one of the best boxers and hasn't really done much to have that #1 ranking at 154. He's more exciting than most but that's it.

Good to hear Cotto's in the right place mentally.

He'll need every bit of his skill and will to hang with Floyd.

Just want a good fight. If he wins, that's just icing on the cake.

For a fact? He's not even in the ring ratings as top 10.

How can he be better if he hasn't done much at 154 compared to other guys. Sure he deserved his match with Margarito but the other ones, just gimme fights.

Can't wait till May 5th so I can laugh at either ******ed Cotto stans or Floyd's legion of cheerleaders.
