  • Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Focused on Impressing American Fight Fans

British heavyweight Tyson Fury has vowed to take "no prisoners" when he faces Steve Cunningham in New York on April 20.

Fury (20-0 14KOs) will be looking to make a statement on his United States debut as he closes in on a potential world title shot.

The 6ft 9in fighter has promised that no shortcuts have been taken as he prepares to lock horns with 36-year-old former two-time world cruiserweight champion Cunningham (25-2 12 KOs) at the world famous Madison Square Garden.

"Camp has been going really well, I've had great sparring - everything has gone really well - no stone has been left unturned, so no excuses," said Fury.

I wouldn't worry about impressing the Yanks. They'll never accept him.

Hopefully he gives a good performances for us fans

If he impresses, he could gather a large American following.

What makes you say so? Because he's a poor boxer?

Pacquiao and JMM aren't 'murrican either. Yet they have done quite well for themselves and are accepted.

Lexus Lewis wasn't American either. Fury's got the charisma, if he delivers in the ring too, he could get popular. Why not.

We don't support big stiff idiots who punch themselves.
