  • Climate Change, is it Real? Is it a bad thing?

Is the climate really changing that much? And is man's influence on the environment the main cause.

Many blame carbon emissions for climate change but the evidence we have is shaky and does not take on other natural factors that may contribute to the climate.

Is it really just a big scam for the government to tax us more and restrict our movement for all of those but the very richest?

In the 1960-70s it was predicted by scientist that the earth was cooling down and there was another ice age coming. This has proved to be false, or maybe we have stopped this ice age from happening, isn't that a good thing?

What is the point cutting back on carbon emissions though when what we do doesn't make a slightest difference, when the majority of emission come from industries and developing countries now?

Rather than stopping what we are doing shouldn't our efforts be put into copping with the after effects?

I would prefer a little warmer weather, wouldn't you?

Don't something like 98% of scientist believe climate change is real?

I'll take their word for it

Look at the world around you, from continent to continent. Look at the Antarctic which is literally melting away. Look at The Seychelles in the Indian Ocean, the Islands probably won't exist in a 100-years. Climate change is real and money is the root of all evil. Oil giants and politics. Cars can run on water, ethanol, electricity ... too late if you ask me, man is too selfish.

Pretty confident that it's real, but we're sort of wasting time by trying so hard to cut down on emissions. Sure, turn the lights off etc but it's not going to make much difference at all when industrialising countries are building several new power stations each day.

The real solutions can be found in engineering. Sulphur rockets, cloud-seeding ships. Also, maintenance of forests is an important factor.

The world has always been a dynamic place, change happens.

Yes it's real, the extent of human involvement is the most questionable aspect which I think gets overstated.

Can't understand why the emphasis is on carbon emissions so much.

Agree also the maintenance of carbon sinks like the forests and also the oceans which account for 90% the carbon sinks.

Yes, the ocean is important too.

Another 'saving the planet theory' revolves around pumping urea into the sea to feed the phytoplankton. The phytoplankton have the same effect as trees in terms of using CO2 and giving back oxygen.
