There's are truth Leonard have entertain the thoughts of giving Hagler a rematch in 1990 but no way can this be called a superfight, both were way past it.
Leoanrd was shot when he beat hagler.

Leonard was the Fresher fighter for sure. Even with his ring inactivity Hagler was going thru war after war. Showed in the mugabi fight. but Hagler won anyways. 7-5 IMO. if he wouldn't have fought the first 3 rounds ******ed then he would of won easily. The Mafia got ahold of him and he then moved to Italy. put two and two together. :****you:

If Leonard was shot when he fought Hagler he would have been knocked out in 2 rounds. If he was shot in 1987 then there's no way he moves up and beats LaLonde, and no way he survives against Hearns.

He was past it... not shot. He was shot when he fought Norris.

You can, but you should really call it a Leonardesque move.

              Fuck Leonard.

He should've manned up and fought Hagler years prior to their meeting. If there was to be a rematch it would be up to SRL and why would he go back into the lion's den when it took him so long to go there the first time?

Hagler would come out wih purpose to seek and destroy and Leonard wouldn't have been able to handle it.
That plus Hagler was very upset with the scoring and had had it with boxing as he felt it always favored the bigger star when scoring fights. So he walked away and never looked back.

Hagler lost the essence of the care of even giving a **** again about boxing on that hot night. He didn't drop a thing that night, except Leonard, and the judges? I don't know, they obviously wandered in some time.

Rumor has it this guy wanted part of the cut and wanted total control of both fighters for his bidding ,boxing had to wait a long time before he lost interest so he stayed mainly in the cemetery /funeral business.....
