A judge in a UK court has ordered Apple to publish adverts announcing Samsung did not copy the Apple iPad's design. The judgement, reported by the Bloomberg news agency, states one notice should remain on the Apple website for six months with the other adverts being replaced on various magazines and newspapers.
So far, Apple has not commented on the judgement which was published on the 9th July. The order to run the adverts is not mentioned in the published judgement, but Bloomberg reported that the matter was discussed in court after the verdict was passed.
It said the adverts must make reference to the court case in question and should be designed to "correct the damaging impression" that the look of Apple's products had been copied by Samsung when designing their tablet computers.
"They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design," said the judge.

Samsung's request that Apple be forbidden from its claim that its design rights had been infringed at a later date was refused by the judge.
Judge Birss said the US firm was "entitled" to hold the opinion that his judgement was wrong.
The court decision comes after Apple attempted to block the sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab tablets because they felt that copyrights had been breached in the tablet's design.
Samsung said in an official statement to BBC: "Should Apple continue to make excessive legal claims based on such generic designs, innovation in the industry could be harmed and consumer choice unduly limited."
