if you look up al haymon on wikipedia, the first sentence says he is one of the most influential people within professional boxing and pretty much calls all the shots. his clientele include mayweather, jr., adrien broner and danny garcia to name a few.
haymon has found a way to manage fighters and promote fights without needing a promoter's or manager's license (wtf?). countless fighters have appeared on premium cable networks only made possible by their affiliation with haymon. unproven fighters propped up to be stars. best example of this is hw seth mitchell who was middle linebacker that turned boxer out of the blue and despite no resume whatsoever collected large paydays and was quickly pushed towards a world title shot. mitchell was ko'ed in his last fight.
haymon is the puppet master and controls all the contacts with the television networks, with the advertisers and with the venues. majority of the boxers out there suffer while they (haymon in particular) benefit.
