  • Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire is Inspired By Ward's Smashing Victory

WBO/IBF super bantamweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire said Sunday he was inspired by what he described as a “helluva show” put on by undefeated, longtime friend, WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward who retained his title with a 10th round TKO of WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson who dropped down in weight to make the title fight.

Nonito is capable of putting on as good of a performance as Andre, in time. If he works at his skills.

It would be awesome to see both of them headline shows in the Oakland area. They could lift up the boxing scene there in a big way between the two of them.

How often does one city have two PFP fighters active at the same time?

        War Nonito!

I hope he gets back to basics, because Donaire has real skills and will be great against Nishioka if he fights the way he is capable of.

Rigondeaux will whoop you easily. If you are so inspired , why dont you call the wba interim and regular champ and two times olimpic goldmedalist ? Fight rigo . He has caled you a lot , and you always comeswith an excuse.

Rigo is **** with no resume to show for. Get 10 more quality fights then maybe you'll get a shot.

Why put the hate on Nonito? He's fighting a good fight next, I just hope he does not fight Arce next. For Rigo, it will be good to fight Mares but of course, we know the promotional conflicts.

Arum has been cherry picking opponents for Donaire since the Montiel fight. He needs to fight Mares or Rigo. Those two fighters are legitimate threats to Donaire and that is why we haven't seen those fights yet. Nishioka is overrated, he beat a faded Marquez and beat a Gonzalez during a time when he was fighting solo boxeo quality opponents. Now that Gonzalez has reestablished himself at 126lbs, Gonzalez beats Nishioka!

Donaire has unified a couple of belts at 122 and is now fighting the #1 guy in the division.

What is Rigo doing to make himself an attractive opponent? Nothing, instead he's involved in litigation and not even fighting.

Exactly, Donaire publicly stated he wanted to unify the 122lb division now that Rigo is champ he doesn't want too, he knows Rigo is a dangerous fight and that is why he's avoiding him to the fullest. Nishioka best win is against over the hill Marquez and Gonzalez, he's overrated. Donaire by KO!
