I think it will be a film of two halfs, being an origin story.

It has to show Supes growing up, The Kents made him who he is, it's a huge part of his character. Then it'll kick into action mode in the second half

From what I've read, it's supposed to lead in to Justice League and Joseph Gordon-Levitt has apparently been tied to Justice League as well.
