That is a great idea, I wonder which fighters though, will it just be the ones who sign with GBP? Will it be some of the INTERNATIONAL FIGHTERS AS WELL like Anthony Joshua? But I would love to see Marcus Browne, Joseph Diaz Jr. (if he does turn pro) Rau'shee Warren debut as PROS!

Great business move by GBP. Not only are they bringing boxing back to the public, but they heighten their own company name by broadcasting it to literally the entire world. Also, don't forget GBP own figurehead, Oscar de la Hoya's own Olympic background. Finally, GBP is going to be the first to offer their hand to any budding American or foreign boxer who wants to go pro.

What? Do they have one for the iphone?

Also, this is really interesting news. I hope they have an established fight on the card too since pro debuts are normally only four rounds.

Kevin Iole has an interesting article about Arum doing something similar with CBS and the Olympians in 1976.

Good stuff, pro boxing on CBS. This is a great way to get a career jump start right from the start. Any boxer competing on these CBS cards should train as if they were on a career defining mega fight on PPV. Talk about exposure!

The Racket Squad: Of Heroes and Lost Dreams

There must be some solid fighters competing this year or CBS is just playing pin the tail on the Boxer.
It's more like Showtime's version of blind mans bluff in the hope of discovering an American goldmine.

We shall never again see the likes of Ali, Ray Leonard or Evander emanating that special personality glow that made them so beloved to audiences.
Oscar was the last Olympic star but he never had the intrinsic talents of Olympians past.

These are different days and the word 'hero' has possibly been lost forever in this Top Rank/Golden Boy stage and age of greed.
Don King was a terrorist. He gave us Zaire and changed the sport forever just like Woodstock changed the music business.
Some changes promote corporate, stage 4 cancers within the crafts they should protect and are often not for the better.
