  • Comments Thread For: Crawford's Trainer Expects Dazzling Glasgow Performance

Ricky Burns' fans will be "amazed" by the talent of Terence Crawford in Saturday's WBO lightweight title fight at the SECC in Glasgow, according to the American challenger's trainer, Brian McIntyre.

The Coatbridge champion, 30, is making the fifth defence of his title and will be supported by the vast majority of the 10,000 sell-out crowd but goes into the fight as the underdog against the 26-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska who is unbeaten in 22 fights.

McIntyre, speaking at the head-to-head press conference in a Glasgow hotel, insists that the fight fans will witness in Crawford a fighter who is on his way to the very top of his trade.

Got a feeling Crawford is going to freeze in this one. Call it a hunch. Too many people are assessing Burns only on the Beltran fight, which is unfair. He has had much better performances in the past. With his stamina, workrate and long jab, he is very difficult to fight. Especially at home against an untested opponent like Crawford.

I just want to see the best Crawford doing his thing. This will be a test because Burns doesnt just show up to lose. He will try to throw in the kitchen sink.

He was clearly losing his fight prior to that one as well. Too many people haven't watched Burns' whole career. He has certainly overachieved because he's very limited talent wise.

That guy before Beltran was winning with his jab and then quit because he was tired

Crawford has a 3 inch reach advantage and will most likely win the jab battle. Ricky has to put smart pressure on him, i don't think he can outbox Crawford.
