  • Vitali vs. Charr is NOT a done deal

According to reports in Russia and Germany, Vitali-Charr is not signed and the Klitschkos' manager Bernt Bonte is still having discussions with several other heavyweights, including Mariusz Wach and Bermain Stiverne. Bonte says Vitali's September opponent will be announced next week.

Personally, I'd prefer to see Vitali fight Stiverne or Wach, but I think Charr (21-0, age 27) is acceptable because Vitali is age 41 and it's his farewell fight.

stiverne, wach, welliver, charr have been mentioned & i would think arreola would be in the mix because he is the WBC mandatory.

Fight Wach. Arreola already had his chance and lost.

is stiverne promoted by Don king? i think I remember him from some undercards.....he's pretty nice actually if that's who im thinking of. just smaller...he has a good jab and power but I don't think he is big enough to reach Vitali with anything. He's will stand in the pocket and try though.

Only seen Wach a couple times as well, the size factor would be pretty cool to see in the ring and even though I don't think he has the compant power Stiverne has, he can actually reach Vitali with the stuff he throws. he will be a much bigger target as well, so either way hopefully Vitali gets the KO

If he was going to retire, he should have just went out after he beat Chisora. A good/solid win to end it. Fights like he's talking about mean nothing. Either that or he should have fought someone like Kubrat Pulev, Denis Boytsov, or Robert Helenius at least. Oh well. Had a solid career, not an ATG or close to Top 10 HW, but he'll probably wind up in the HOF.

My first choice would be Stiverne because:

            1) it would be entertaining while it lasts
            2) Vitali would be sure to get a KO in his farewell fight.
How about Tye Fields if he wants the ko

I still hope Vitali doesn't retire after his next fight and if Haye wins against Chisora like I think he should, then I would love to see that fight as Vitalis swansong.

He's not ranked and is coming off a KO loss.
