  • Comments Thread For: DiBella: We Are Not Interested in Berto vs Alexander

Promoter Lou DiBella advised BoxingScene.com that currently there is no interest in having Andre Berto (27-1, 21KOs) defend the IBF welterweight title against Devon Alexander. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who recently signed Alexander to his company, was attempting to match him against Berto in the fall or early 2012.

I wonder who Alexander will fight now.

Maybe we can see Alexander vs Ortiz?

After all the trash talk, I'd prefer to see Zavec-Malignaggi, lol! Want Zavec to smash that punk's ass... but seriously, GBP isn't interested.

I agree... Alexander should go after a Zaveck or Ortiz first. He shouldn't be able to go straight to a title shot at 147 after the way he looked in his last couple of fights. He needs to prove himself again.

And Berto should jump at the opportunity for a tourney. It did wonders for the super middleweights.

lol you kidding me? Berto vs bailey, live on HBO. $1.6 million for Berto

Bailey is still one of the hardest punchers pound 4 pound in the sport, I don't care if he didn't KO his last opponent. With that said he also has a glass chin

I believe we'll see Malignaggi-Alexander in early 2012 and Berto-Ortiz sometime next year. Personally, I want to see Bailey-Berto, both can be hurt and both can hit especially Bailey.
