Title says it all. Your 3 favourite boxers, active or retired, can be ordered or at random, with a little explanation as to why you love 'em so much.
For the record, mine are:
1) Hagler (got me into the sport, a badass member of the boxing pantheon)
2) Froch (a true warrior, I'm glad he's English. Oh, and Rachel
3) Anselmo Moreno (because making people miss is fun to watch too. And the purple trunks/crown combo is just DOPE)
Honourable mention: Canelo, James Toney
James Toney- Slick, skillful throwback fighter, great chin, will fight anybody.
Sergio Martinez- Great guy, great to watch, looks like he's having the time of his life in the ring, Quick as hell.
Active Top 10:
Mayweather
Ward
Gamboa
Broner
Alvarado
Lara
Rigondeaux
Bradley
Guerrero
Kirkland
All-Time Top 5:
Muhammad Ali (the way he danced in his prime, the speed for a Heavyweight)
Ron Lyle (from my hometown, love watching his old fights, met him several times before he passed)
Sugar Ray Leonard (got me into the sport)
Stevie Johnston (from my hometown, watched him in denver from the ground up)
Roy Jones Jr. (the raw ability that Jones had was crazy, never a boring fight to me)
Active:
Gamboa - Can do it all, and once his career gets back on track, I look forward to all the great fights... Hopefully his small frame won't limit his ability to move up in weight and make some potentially great fights
Donaire - Reminds me of Oscar, and has the potential to be top p4p in the near future
Ward - Reminds me of Duran (lets not overestimate that statement), he can do it all and JUST WINS... Period
Honorable Mention: Bradley, Guerrero (if u hadn't noticed my favorite fighters are always multidimensional)
the Best fighter of ALL TIME! ..Sugar Ray Robinson
the Best Heavyweight of ALL TIME....Joe Louis
the Best Technical fighter of ALL TIME....Willie Pep
their complete records speak for themselves along with their incredible durability! I personally think the welter division in the 40s thru the 60s gave boxing its best rivalry and it continues with fewer competitors right thru the 80s. When the top twenty fight each other constantly boxing is hard to knock because when the competition is at a high level no other sport generates more excitment. Ray.
