Thanks for the footage. There is going to be a legal case here. There has to be. The banking was much higher a few yards back ,if the area he left his luge in was banked more he would have been OKish but hitting a steel girder no chance. That is very poor design. If the banking was lower there should have been other protective measures and steel structures should have been many more yards away to make sure this kind of accident could not happen.
Have they closed the track?

This is real sad. A young man that worked so hard to get there. Very tragic. I replayed the video and it looks like once he hit that spot that shot him off his sled he started to spin clock wise on his left side.
