I've said on many occasions that I believe Donaire beats Rigo at the current time. Guillermo is still finding his pro footing, in my opinion. I'm sure he thinks he's ready. He's a born champion. But the reality is, he's asked to take on one of the top P4P boxers in the world. Anyone and everyone has to bring their "A-game". Surely Rigo deserves to go into the fight with some decent preparation. Nonito just fought, so of course March is okay with him. He's still sharp. Could it be that Donaire's just looking for an unfair edge? Hmmm?
you did contradict yourself unintenionally , maybe..but you did...so what has changed? and no.. i dont think you wrote them nonito excuses or maybe you did but just did'nt think they were excuses , pls remind me again..

I simply gave you my take on it. I don't know what the hell is coming from the Rigo camp. Too many rumors and hearsay. My guess is that Guillermo wants it. His handlers probably feel the way I do. Just my opinion.

Go back a few posts. I listed at least three excuses that Donaire has been quoted on this very website as saying at various times. Rigo has no fan-base; Rigo is too boring; Rigo needs to earn it. What...has...changed? Why the urgency to fight now?

Life ain't fair and Guillermo probably has to grab his chance, ready or not. As the old saying goes, "Opportunity knocks but once...."

Are some of you still that fuking ignorant and bias to not know how boxing business works?????? A top Florida Promoter ALREADY explained the business. First off, Donaire does not pick his opponents. It is in his contract that the promoter choses the opponent, the site, and other details!! COMMON SENSE! Why you might ask? Because THE FIGHTER DOES NOT PUT THE MONEY UP, his PROMOTER DOES! What part of that DONT you understand???? Donaire doesnt OFFER a fighter a shot, his promoter does. Donaire doesn't pick his opponent, his PROMOTER DOES!!! Complaint to Arum, and even blame Rigo because HE renewed his contract with Top Rank in December!!! ONLY fighters like Vitali and Pac have a PARTIAL choice and ONLY Mayweather has a complete choice in who he fights! The rest of the Boxers do not. It is IN the CONTRACT! GET IT?? GOT IT?? GOOD! The only DUCKS are the QUACKS on here who don't know the contractual obligations of a fighter to a promoter and vice versa and speak from complete bias and ignorance! GET A FUKING CLUE!!

I've read his posts and don't claim to know any more about the business than he does, but I'm skeptical about certain assertions. I believe that Donaire is in a position to offer preferences. No, he doesn't have anywhere near the clout of the stars you mentioned, but he does have some say. Some evidence for this are the comments he's been making about Rigo for over a year now.

Why would Nonito say the things he's been saying if he doesn't have some input? Are you claiming he's a that much of a shit-talker? He could've just done what JuanMa did for a while when asked about a Gamboa fight: "Boxing is a business. My promoter makes all the decisions." Instead, Donaire has shot Guillermo down at every turn. So, either Nonito has some say in whom he fights, or he's just a shit-talking loudmouth who pulls the chain of all boxing fans in general and his fans in particular. I don't have high regard for Donaire anymore, but I'm not ready to accept he's that bad.

Here is the deal, if ANY boxer was leary of a fighter and they told the promoter they were, the Promoter would be able to A) Put them on the shelf, A) Go over the finer details of the contract that the Fighter signed or C) dissolve the contract. But that is not the case. The fact is, Donaire does not or at least not till recently believe Rigo had become marketable. THAT is his opinion! Nothing more, nothing less! It doesn't influence who the Promoter choses! But there is an upside to what Donaire is saying....he can also mean that he believes with a couple more fights, Rigo would be a bigger name and more money could be made. That would be a compliement! Why do you think Rigo was supposed to be on the undercard of the Donaire fight???!!

I have seen fights buildup to become better but even Arum knows they can also fall apart like Gamboa vs JuanMa when JuanMa lost. So anything can happen. Donaire has already indicated that he is ready to fight Rigo THIS YEAR. All Donaire has is an opinion about a fighter, he DOES NOT have the final say. WHO IS PUTTING UP ALL THE MONEY????? Arum is!! NONE of these Boxers at the higher levels are promiting themselves because they DON'T have the money....no way do they have the money because they would not even know what to project and what the profit or loss could be, or the know-how so they enter into a contract with a Promoter who puts THIER OWN money up so that they can say who a fighter will fight next, when and where, periood! Promoters are looking at the money figures, the revenue, the site, the nuances of promotional aspects - and the fighter BY CONTRACT has to agree! THAT is why you hear SO MANY FIGHTERS say that "I will fight who they put in front of me" - because THEY ARE NOT THE ONES MAKING THE CHOICE!!!!! Otherwise a Promoter could say "You want to pick your opponent, fine, then you PUT THE MONEY UP!!". Watch how fast a fighter changes his mind!

ONLY a superstar like Pac will be givin a list of opponents and even within that list, the Promoter, Arum in this case will present figures and will PUSH who the opponent is and even that little say so by Pac is overruled by Arum because it is in the contract!!! Anyone other than a Pac or Floyd is going to have to submit to the opponent that the Promoter has chosen. Even a fighter's manager often doesn't know who the fighter will be fighting....I have found this out first hand when asking and it turned out the manager was waiting to hear from the Promoter who the opponent would be. The Promoter sits down with the fighter, goes over opponents, shedules, sites, and money. If the fighter is not compliant with the choice, the Promoter can enforce his legal right because it is HIS money that is being put up. Go yell at Arum, or Shaw, or King, but not the fighter. You can hate a fighter's opinion but he is not making the executive decisions.

Donaire is allowed an opinion like anyone! He is allowed to talk about his perspective to the media all he wants but he is not allowed to negotiate a fight or pick an opponent, with or without the Promoter present. I don't like all of what Donaire has ever said but I know he does not have executive power of choice. He is NOT the one putting the money up for a site and handling the business side. People need to separate this from their bias against a fighter like Donaire or bias towards a fighter like Rigo becuse who the fighter fights is NOT his choice.
