    Actually he'd be ranked lower.

One of Pacquiao's biggest selling points is that hes from the Philippines.

Nah, not if he had the same accomplishment.

There have been great Asian fighters. So that wouldn't matter.

However, if he was American he probably would be rank lower cuz he wouldn't be able to have the accomplishments he has gotten. For example he would not have won a Fly weight title. Maybe wouldn't have won the 122 pound title either. Depending where in America he was born he probably would of had a hometown trainer and maybe never had been Roach. A lot of stuff would of been different.

But, where he is rank has nothing to do cuz he is Asian. It has all to do cuz of his accomplishment. I mean if being Asian is the selling point. Then Cerefino Garcia would be in the HOF(which he deserves to be) for being the only Asian MW champ.

I don't know why some of you guys think he would probably rank higher. It makes no sense....

If anything he could possibly rank lower cuz he wouldn't have the accomplishment that he has now. And, possibly would of had a different trainer who was not Roach. Which wouldn't of helped him out as much.

I agree that a lot of early stuff wouldve been changed. As far as his multiple weight classes.

But we cant be naive. Its the 2000's. Pacquiao's image is heavily depended on where hes from. Heavily. If he was just some other American athlete his "accomplishments" would hardly be as blown out of proportion as they are now.

Its just too many variables to take into play. Maybe instead of all those Mexicans he would been healthy enough to fight Too Sharp or Tim Austin. His career wouldve been a lot different.

His earky career wouldve been different for sure. He wouldve been fighting American fighters. His style would be different...etc. His coach would be different. Too many things would be different.

So let's say Manny is an American man from a minority background(Asian American,Mexican,African American, which automatically means NONE IN THE MEDIA OR FAN BASE would dare to make so racist jokes against him or his race, cause there would be riots ala L.A. 1992 or OJ Simpson case,Oprah calling Obama (LOL) etc) where does he rank in All time great lists right now?2 probably?Maybe to some even 1?

IMO I think the way he carries himself professionally in and out of the ring is what boxing truly needs today. If he were an American, he would definitely be more of a likeable person and many Americans would greatly overrated him, maybe even rank him higher than some of the all time greats like Armstrong or Ali. Americans are always looking for a new hero, and had Manny been an American, he would be considered the best American athlete today, better than Lebron or Kobe. Because Pacquaio broke records that has never been done before.

There's millions of American-Pilipinos and money makes Manny American, so to answer you question. NO, HE would be exactly where He is.

Pac sells 50k seats in Texas and 700k in ppv and you come out with this B/S. Different era even if he was an american. Pac career is not done and he can still reach even higher with his career. Your point has no basis

Nah, people made a big deal about Oscar fighting for a record 6th title. The only difference why it get blown out of proportion after the fact is cuz a lot fo people thought he lost that fight and then got KO'd in his next fight at a catch-weight. So it was like ehh.......

But, if he would of won it would of been a big deal and he is American. So IMO it had nothing to do with Asian it has a lot to do with his accomplishments. Just my opinion.
