  • Comments Thread For: Felix Sturm Considering a Move To Super Middleweight

According to sources in Germany, Felix Sturm (37-4-2, 16KOs), a career middleweight since the start of his career in 2001, is considering a move to the super middleweight division. Sturm captured the WBA, WBO championships at 160. He lost his last two at 160, both to Aussie fighters. He was beaten by Daniel Geale by split decision in September and then beaten by Sam Soliman by unanimous decision earlier this month.

      We have winner!!!

Normally I don't agree with the "ducking" charge but what GGG presented to Sturm coming off of 2 loses in more than FAIR.

Sturm has ducked Golovkin for years, paid the WBA money to not fight him and also had his promoter who was also Golovkins promoter sit him out to prevent fighting him

Sturm seems out of his depth at MW.

He's struggled with the second tier MW's.

He doesn't want to do near SMW.

Don't worry Triple G said he is willing to face anyone from Jr. Middleweight all the way up to Super Middleweight. You can run Sturm... but you can't hide!

I think Abraham would smack the hell outta Sturm.

168 is like 10000000000x stronger. Potentially, theres p4p no.1 there. All champions decent. Ward, Froch, Kessler, Abraham. Seems like a weird move, as he has little to no chance of getting a title there

Doesn't want to fight GGG, so he moves up to bigger people
