  • If Pacquiao loses to Marquez, Mayweather still won’t fight him

    Good read- http://www.nowboxing.com/2012/12/if-...ght-him/26026/

    By Charlie Knoxville

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is up to his old tricks, avoid Manny Pacquiao at all costs, but ride off of his name and fame.

Manny Pacquiao is fighting Juan Manuel Marquez this weekend on December 8th and Mayweather announced through his adviser Leonard Ellerbe, as reported by ESPN’s Dan Rafael, that Floyd will make his return to the boxing ring and fight twice in 2013, the fight dates targeted are May 4 and September 14 and the opponents are TBA (To Be Announced) but one thing’s for sure, he will fight anyone NOT named Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather keeps using Pacquiao’s name to sell his fights, it started when he announced his comeback to boxing after a short retirement on the day of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton fight in 2009. He would announce a fight or use Pacquiao’s time to shine to keep his name relevant and to help promote his fights, like when he said “Yes, Manny Pacquiao, you’re next!” during the build up of his bout with Victor Ortiz. Floyd loves to talk about Pacquiao constantly and acts as if Pacquiao and his promoter Bob Arum can’t leave his name out of their mouth, the reality is, they only speak about Floyd if the media brings him up.

Floyd talks so much about Manny but has yet to even step in the ring with him. He claims to be the greatest of all time but lacks the balls to step in the ring with a guy he claims will be easy to beat. He is like a little chihuahua that keeps barking but as soon as the big dog barks back he runs and hides behind his master. Mayweather has been talking for many years about this Pacquiao fight, but keeps coming up with excuses, trying to tell lies thinking people will fall for it and think it’s the truth, like when he said he will make the fight if Pacquiao accepts the “Floyd Mayweather style drug testing” Pacquiao agreed to the drug tests, and Floyd then said he won’t do a 50/50 split and will only give Manny a lump sum of 40 million, and no Pay-Per-View revenue trying to play Pacquiao for a fool — Pacquiao answered back by saying Floyd can have the bigger purse split of 55/45. Now he claims it’s Bob Arum, he won’t do business with Arum, but when his best friend 50 Cent tried to make the fight happen and start up TMT promotions which is now SMS promotions, Floyd Mayweather didn’t put his money where his mouth is and tucked his tail and cowered away. Saying he won’t make a fight because of Arum is a load of crap, what type of ridiculous reasoning is that? Arum doesn’t get any money from Floyd Mayweather’s end, only from Pacquiao’s end. That’s like Manny Pacquiao telling Floyd he won’t do business with him unless he gets rid of Al Haymon.

Manny Pacquiao hasn’t looked great in his last few fights, and still Floyd Mayweather will not fight him, Pacquiao lost a controversial decision to Timothy Bradley, and still Floyd will not fight him, and now Pacquiao is going to be in a tough fight against Juan Manuel Marquez for the fourth time and if Manny wins or loses, either way Mayweather still won’t fight him. Manny Pacquiao is a phobia that Floyd Mayweather Jr. just can’t shake.

Pacquiao is over the hill and it'd still be the highest pay day Floyd could ever receive in boxing. Not sure what the hold up is, there's literally nothing to be afraid of yet it seems like Floyd doesn't believe he can do it.

The sad truth is that this is probably true

50 cent already told it like it is

And recently Floyd did it again. Promoting his comeback in 2013 in the final presser of Marquez Pacquiao fight to steal some limelight of off PAc.. He did it before the Pac Hatton fight. Now he says he will fight 2 fights next year. Can't even say it's Pac he wants.

He really is the Harry Houdini of boxing. Escape artist at it's best.

You're pretty stupid yourself, why wouldn't he fight Pac. It's the biggest pay day for both. Even if Pac loses this fight will still generate huge numbers.

Seems like everyone in the world is confident that Floyd will beat Pac....except Floyd himself.
