If Ring Magazine operated like the alphabet soup groups (and thank God they don't)...Agbeko and Mares would now BOTH be rated #3...and #4 would be vacant, and both Agbeko and Mares would be called interim #3 contenders, with the rematch to determine who is the real emeritus #3 diamond super contender, eh...champion...

Mares will now have this in his head.

The new ref will have his eyes on Mares.

I would not bet on this fight.

Don King is spot on and I commend him on his stance in this matter. The whole world was watching when that travesty of a boxing match, which was sanctioned, under the jurisdiction of the Nevada State Athletic Commission had occurred. Thereby a definite investigation and review is in order, to insure that justice is done. This fight not only casts a dark shadow over the sport of boxing in general but the entire state of Nevada in particular. It stains whatever credibility and integrity the sport has left. That's why the NSAC has to overturn this verdict and render it no contest because the rules clearly state that a boxer cannot win a bout on fouls.
