  • Comments Thread For: Povetkin's Manager: Rahman's Belly Sagged To His Knees

Vladimir Hyrunov was dropping some verbal punches after reading a recent article on BoxingScene.com, where Greg Cohen, promoter for former two-time heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman (50-7-2, 42KOs), expressed his anger at some of the recently published statements from Hyrunov, who manages WBA "regular" world heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16KOs).

The way they are treating Rahman is bull****, plain and simple. Capitalize on the man's name, and then show him no respect. Real classy. Can't wait til Sasha is exposed. He's nothing but a pork-bellied **** himself.

          Rahman is not championship caliber

Boxing needs a commission to prevent these sham fake fights. If boxing is to be taken seriously a commissioner needs to be named who determines high caliber fights with contenders who are legitimate fighters. Boxing is becoming more of a joke each day.

Anyone associated with Povetkin has no right to criticise another boxer's condition. Rahman at 284 looked better physically than Povetkin ever has.

Rahman is in no position to complain about photos when he wasn't willing to take one!!! He has the nerve to turn down taking a picture and then expect his picture to be on the poster????!!!!!! How does that fuking work! He couldn't even get into or stay in enough shape for a photo shoot?????!!!Rahman was washed up years ago and it is a joke that he is ranked #1.

And more pathetic when a promoter is accused of not being in the same shape that a boxer is expected to be in!! WTF!!! When a promoter and a Boxer start having belly wars and who is in worse shape, something is wrong with the Boxer, not the promoter!!!

I don't disagree that Rahman should not suddenly be ranked in the top ten. In fact, I completely agree. BUT- out of all the opponents out there for Povetkin and Co. to choose for Sasha to fight, they choose a somewhat recognizable name, and then show him no respect when he gets on board for the fight. It's reprehensible.

If they did not respect him, they should have chose a different opponent ffs.
