  • Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Defends David Haye, Talks Devon Alexander

At the moment former champion Paulie Malignaggi is enjoying some free time in his second home of Italy, having a ball with friends and family in the city of Sicily. Still recovering from a right hand injury that he suffered in his unanimous decision victory over Jose Miguel Cotto in April inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Malignaggi figured what better time than now to visit those close to him overseas and to rekindle his love for his roots.

The problem is the trash talking Haye made were more exciting than the fight itself. He didn't walk the walk. Even wearing a printed shirt with the Klits heads on his hands should be enough to bring Haye shame after his performance. I would be ashamed defending Haye for this matter.

By the way the Magic Man and Haye are relatives. Paulie's actual last name is MalignagHaye.

cause for some reason people like to hear what lil Paulie has to say. His post fight interviews after Diaz were classic, he blasted GBP and they signed him!!!

No one will ever beat Wlad on a outside jabbing fight. You have to fight him on the inside which Haye was too scared to do.

And Alexander will KTFO outta Malinaggi so he doesn't even have to worry about getting robbed.

Malignaggi---aside from Diaz, who has he beat?

Regarding Alexander, perhaps that would be a fight that Devon can finally win. Paulie packs no power and Devon is moving up in weight, so he should be a bit more comfortable in the lead up to the fight. Devon-Paulie this fight would have a lot of fainting, single punches, and movement. Both are spot fighters.

Paulie's views on Haye are distorted. Haye was backed up all night, didn't throw, took punches and was genuinely embarrassed. The only thing worse that Haye's performance are the excuses coming out afterward. The guy is shameful- how can Paulie be up for that?

Well said Paullie. You noticed the technical aspects of the fight, and what Haye was trying to do. Most people on these boxing forums are nitwits that don't understand the technical aspects of the sport, they need to be watching MMA, or better yet a street fight!
