  • Calzaghe legacy?

    Calzaghe claims to be a legend gloating he retired on the top, but to me he wasted his talent. Staying undefeated doesn't neccesarily mean your the greatest. In a 40 odd fight career he fought 5 meaningfull oponents thats all:

    B-hop, RJJ, Kessler, Lacy and Eubank. Apart from that the rest were duds.

    Very good fighter, but not great in my opinion!

      Out of all those fights;

      How many were in the top 5 of the division?

          That's not what I asked.

          I'm asking you a specific question;

          Out of all those fights, how many of them were in the top 5 of the division when Calzaghe fought them?

            He was a brilliant fighter, but didn't get enough elite-level names on his resume to be considered a true great.

                Why can't you just give me some names?

                These are actually the only fighters who were in the top 5 in the division he was in when Calzaghe fought them;

                Jeff Lacy - #3
                Mikkel Kessler- #1
                Bernard Hopkins - Ring Champion.

                The only apparent 'title holders' he beat were those 3 people.

                That's it.

                    sven ottke who was ranked number 1 or 2 for 6 years. also undefeated. also 21 title defenses. also unified belts. 2 greats with the same exact resume in the same exact division at the same exact time. how strange.
